I seriously THINK we Nigerians are the cause of our companies not moving forward. I base in the UK and have just lived here for only 5 years. I have never seen where any sensible recruiter will ever post a job and require bogus 10 years of experience in any discipline. It’s usually minimum of 2years with required qualifications.
How will the hot brains like us get a descent job and create a difference and move Nigeria forward with our acquired knowledge? When you back date 10 years of experience, all you get are the same old people which is why Nigerian Government is filled with old people with traditional style of management which has left us in the dark for ages.
I am a practising HR professional with a Masters degree in Human Resources and CIPD qualified, which is recognised across the world, equivalent to Directorate level of the Nigerian CIPM. I will be taking the whole of March 2012 off work to come and job hunt in Nigeria, because we need to make a difference in our Human Resource strategies to merge up with the western world.
