1. THE POST OF THE UNIVERSITY BURSAR

 

THE JOB

- The Bursar is the chief financial officer of the University and is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the daily administration and control of the financial affairs of the University

- The bursar shall hold office for a period of 5 years from the effective date of his/her appointment and on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment

 

THE PERSON

- must be exhibited in the past, considerable ability, competence, industry and integrity

- Proactivity and capacity to efficiently and effectively manage a coordinated system of decentralized Bursary with good human relations

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

- good honors degree in accounting or economics with at least 18 years post qualification experience preferably in University accounting system or that of comparable institution or higher learning, industry, commerce or any other arms of the Public service

- Possession of MBA will be added advantage while adequate knowledge of computer applications and certificate of the final examinations of any recognized bodies are compulsory: ACA, ACCA, ACMA, and ICAN

- With at least 5 years in senior management position not lower than a deputy Bursar or its equivalent

 

EMOLUMENTS AND BENEFITS

A consolidated salary as for Bursars of Federal Universities with benefits which include a subsidized hard-furnished residential accommodation on the university campus, medical care for the appointee, spouse and up to 5 children, 42 working days annual paid leave, official car and driver, contributory pension scheme, gardener and such other benefits as approved by the University Council

2. DIRECTOR OF WORKS AND MAINTENACE SERVICES

REQUIREMENTS

- A good university degree in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering, architecture or building

- at least 15 years post qualification experience in a University or an Institution of higher learning with similar experience in a government or private establishment would be accepted provided at least 5 years have been in upper management position

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the daily administration and control of the division of works and maintenance services

- coordinate and assist in the preparation of and implementation of capital projects as well as coordinate the planning and scheduling of all maintenance works

- must be focused and proactive and lead a team of other professionals in the discharge of the above functions

 

EMOLUMENTS AND BENEFITS

BASIC SALARY ON THE SCALE: CONTISS 15 (N2, 232,199.00 TO N2, 875,791.00 PER ANNUM)

The point of entry depends on experience. Other benefits include: a subsidized hard-furnished residential accommodation on the university campus, medical care for the appointee, spouse and up to 5 children, 42 working days annual paid leave, official car and driver, contributory pension scheme, gardener and such other benefits as approved by the University Council

 

3. DIRECTOR, MEDICAL AND HEALTH SERVICES

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Daily administration of the medical and health services of the University and the successful candidate shall be responsible for the Vice Chancellor, who is the chief executive officer of the University

 

REQUIREMENTS

- A degree in medicine from a recognized institution and must be registered with the medical and dental council of Nigeria

- at least 15 years post registration experience of which 10 years must be cognate health and medical administration experience preferably in a reputable institution plus at least 5 years administrative experience

 

REMUNERATION

BASIC SALARY ON THE SCALE: CONTISS 15 (N2, 232,199.00 TO N2, 875,791.00 PER ANNUM)

 

The point of entry will depend on experience, other fringe benefits include: call duty, hazard and inducement allowances in accordance with extant Federal Government Circulars, a partly furnished residential accommodation on campus at a subsided rate, medical care as provided under NHIS for self, spouse and up to a maximum of 5 children, 42 working days paid annual leave, contributory pension and other benefits as applicable in the Federal Public service and approved by the council from time to time

 

4. INFORMATION AND PUBLICATIONS MANAGEMENT

 

SENIOR ASSISTANT REGISTRAR/PRINCIPAL ASSISTANT REGISTRAR – CONTISS 11/13

(N973, 305.00 – N1, 375,535/N1, 445,599.00 – N1, 908,855.00)

 

REQUIREMENTS:

- good honors degree in mass communication or English language or related discipline with excellent writing skills in English especially with the evidence of publication in the newspaper and 8 years or 11 post qualification experience with at least 3 years of those years at the job middle management level in the media industry

- A member of NIPR and versatile in the application of information and communication technology (ICT) in corporate management

- Relevant higher degree will be added advantage
