ORIE VACANCY

OPERATIONS RESEARCH AND IMPACT EVALUATION PROJECT is one component of a large DFID funded programme called WINNN working to improve nutrition in Northern Nigeria which aims to reduce the high incidence of maternal and child under nutrition in 5 Northern states (JIGAWA, ZAMFARA, KATSINA, YOBE, KEBBI).

1. NATIONAL TEAM LEADER AND PROJECT ADMINISTRATORtz

RESPONSIBILITIES

-          Represent and promote the ORIE project in Nigeria, build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in Nigeria

-          Provide leadership to the national team of partners and consultants including management and quality assurance and regular monitoring trips to Northern states

-          Facilitate communications across all parties in Nigeria and UK and assist and accompany international consultants in country work

-          Involve project  management tasks including developing workplans and budgets and prepare written reports as well as management of a small office, office finances and work to the project administrator

REQUIREMENTS

-          MSC or above in a related field desirable ideally public health, nutrition or other relevant fields such as economics, public administration

-          At least 7 years experience designing, implementation and managing complex programmes/projects

-          Experience working in the Nigerian health sector, experience in the nutrition sector desirable

-          Knowledge of Nigerian academic institutions experience in field research and evaluation studies, preferably in Northern Nigeria

-          Excellent written and oral communication skills

-          Experience working with international donors desirable

-          Flexibility and ability to develop strong working relationships in a complex working environment

-          At least 5 years experience in project administration and logistics

-          Experience working as office manager desirable

-          Willingness to travel within Nigeria

METHOD OF APPLICATION
