FOUNTAIN UNIVERSITY is owned by NASRUL LAHI L FAITH SOCIETY OF NIGERIA NASFAT LICENSED in May 2007 by the FG and commenced academic activities in January 2008

The vision of the University is to be a pace setting institution in terms of learning, character building and service to humanity. Its mission is to produce competent and resourceful graduates with high moral standard and philosophy is the total development of men and women in the enabling environment through appropriate teaching, research and service to humanity influenced by Islamic ethics and culture

Having almost completed the first 5 years with lots of success stories including the graduation of the first set and the scoring of 100 percent accreditation for all its programmes in the first accreditation exercise under a Vice Chancellor whose tenure will end soon, the position will therefore become vacant by December 12, 2012

The University therefore wishes to seek:

 

1. VICE CHANCELLOR

REQUIREMENTS

-          Be distinguished scholars of professional rank with at least 10 years in one of the disciplines offered by Fountain University

-          Be of outstanding academic repute and rich administrative/management background experience and reasonably varies exposure

-          High moral integrity, visionary zeal and courage in pursuance of excellence as the brand and image of Fountain University

-          Demonstrate competency in ICT – based management operations

-          Ability to attract research grants and development facilities to the University

CONDITION OF SERVICE

The appointment shall be for 1 term of 5 years only in the first instance subject to another final term of 5 years based on formal performance assessment. Salary and other prerequisites shall be as generally obtained in the Nigeria University System but will be made personal to specific appointee

 

METHOD OF APPLICATION

1. 35 copies of each application shall be accompanied by 35 copies each of: detailed CV with essential supporting documents, 3 page bio data/resume, 5 page vision and mission statement, medical certificate of fitness from reputable public tertiary health institution

REQUIREMENTS

PROFESSOR/READERS

-          PHD from recognized institutions with at least 9 to 10 years teaching experience

-          Strong record of publications in relevant and reputable national and international academic journals and other publishing outlets

-          Some measure of experience in administration of academic units and University Governance. ICT competency is a must

SENIOR LECTURERS

-          Same as above with at least 6 years of related experience

LECTURER I/II

-          PHD or masters degree with adequate number of years of related teaching experience with high scholastic promise in terms of publications. ICT is a must

ASSISTANT LECTURER

-          At least MSC with at least 60% weighted average score or preferably a registered doctoral student in a recognized University. ICT is a must

 

1. REGISTRY

-          SENIOR ASSISTANT REGISTRAR (INFORMATION AND PUBLIC RELATIONS)

-          Good first degree in mass communication, public relations or other related discipline from a recognized University and must be a qualified member of a recognized professional body such as NIPR with at least 9 years related experience

-          Computer literate

-          Ability to use computer software and ability to handle image, in house journals and press relations

-          GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLOR

-          At least good first degree in guidance and counseling or related field

-          Related experience in counseling job tertiary institution is a plus

-          DIRECTOR/DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF WORKS AND PHYSICAL PLANNING

-          First degree in any engineering, architecture, regional planning and related field

-          Must be a registered member of a professional body in the related field such as COREN, ARCON, NIA etc

-          At least 12 years related experience in works and physical planning department in an institution of higher learning

REMUNERATION

Salary and conditions of service are very attractive and comparable to what is presently obtained in Federal Universities
