POPULATION COUNCIL VACANCIES

POPULATION COUNCIL is an international, non profit, non governmental institution that seeks the well being and reproductive health of current and future generations around the world and help achieve a humane, equitable and sustainable balance between people and resources. The council major programs are HIV/AIDS, reproductive health and poverty, gender and youth. The council conducts biomedical, social science and public health research and helps build research capabilities in developing countries. The population council works in collaboration with a broad range of Nigerian institutions

 

  1. TECHNICAL ADVISOR – MARP – ABUJA

RESPONSIBILITIES

-          Provide coordination and technical support in areas of capacity strengthening on HIV prevention service provision relevant to MARP and other high risk groups to local CSO working with MARP to help them improve their outreach services

REQUIREMENTS

-          Relevant degree in public health, epidemiology, applied epidemiology, social sciences, epidemiology research methods or other related field

-          An MPH degree is preferred

-          5 years experience in developing and providing capacity strengthening using evidence based approaches and 3 years of HIV/AIDS program design and management

-          Knowledge and experience in working with most at risk populations and in developing MARP focused behavior change interventions

-          Excellent English communication skills

-          Strong scientific and commercial communication skills

-          Willingness to travel within the country and across the region on a regular basis

-          High degree of independence, creativity and commitment

-          Strong interpersonal, supervisory and organizational skills

-          Excellent writing, editorial, statistical analysis and communication skills

-          Previous NGO experience will be added advantage

-          Experience with and high degree of competency using windows based computer programs and the internet

  1. PROGRAM OFFICERS (KOGI, KWARA, KANO AND ABUJA)

RESPONSIBILITIES

-          Coordinate and manage the USAID funded HIV and AIDS MARPs project and field activities

REQUIREMENTS

-          Bachelors degree

-          Masters degree in health policy, public administration or public health is preferred

-          At least 5 years experience working in public policy, non profit management or related field

-          Computer and MS office tools skills

-          Willingness to travel within the country and across the region on a regular basis

-          High degree of independence, creativity and commitment

-          Strong analytical and communication skills, ability to write clearly and succinctly under time pressure and to make well organized verbal presentations

  1. M&E COORDINATOR – ABUJA

RESPONSIBILITIES

-          Responsible for monitoring and evaluation and data management of a comprehensive HIV prevention and care project and other projects managed by PC

-          Manage database for capturing and processing data collected through the management information systems of the projects

-          Set up database for data entry of service data from the field

-          Carry put the data processing an analysis and generate the statistical tables, charts and graphs for periodic project reports

REQUIREMENTS

-          At least masters in social science, statistics, public health or any related field

-          Desired number of years experience in similar post

-          Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills

-          Ability to use Epi data, STATA and SPSS

-          Ability to travel within and outside Nigeria

-          Strong analytical and database skills including statistical analysis

-          Experience in implementing management information systems and field research is added advantage
