Private Sector Development Professionals- Ethiopia
(donor funding not yet secured)
This private sector strengthening program will involve a focus on financial intermediaries and small and medium sized businesses, and an emphasis on agribusiness. These positions will be based in Ethiopia and the anticipated start date is June 2012.
Qualifications:
Management Opportunities:
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience managing staff and programs related to private sector development, preferably in Ethiopia.
- Master’s degree in a related discipline.
- Demonstrated technical expertise and results working on programs related to financial sector development/deepening and/or enterprise development, with a focus on small and medium enterprises.
- Previous experience working with USAID funded programs is an asset.
- Strong mentorship skills and capacity building.
- Willingness to be based in Ethiopia for a minimum of three (3) years.
- Appreciation and support of MEDA’s faith, values, mission and purpose.
Full-time Positions and Short-term Consulting Opportunities:
- Minimum five (5) years of experience working in one or more of the following technical areas of provide sector development, preferably with experience in Ethiopia:
- Financial services (banking, microfinance)
- Leasing systems and products
- Factoring
- Commodities management / trading
- Small and medium enterprise development
- Business development services for SMEs, such as accounting, business planning, etc.
- Agricultural business support and advisory
- Advocacy and organization of private sector interest groups
- Risk management for banks
- Loan guarantee programs
- MIS/software for banking, or other integration/payments systems
- IT specialists, especially IT solutions for SMEs (management, accounting, etc.)
- Grants management, especially to SMEs and other local organizations
- Monitoring and evaluation of private sector development programs
- Gender in private sector development programs
- Administration and financial management of complex donor programs
