Job Title: Creative Consultant, Maternal and Child Survival Programme (MCSP)
Overview of Assigned Tasks
- The Consultant will be tasked with developing and refining hygiene promotional print products for use in delivery rooms and inpatient newborn care spaces. Materials will target nurse, midwives, doctors, parents, cleaners, and other caregivers
- The Consultant will report to the Senior Newborn Health Advisor for MCSP Nigeria, but will work in close collaboration with other MCSP maternal, newborn, and service and quality improvement staff members in both Abuja, Ebonyi and Kogi states and Washington DC
The assigned tasks and deliverables for this scope of work include:
Initial Print Product Development:
- MCSP will provide the consultant with a list of draft messages and images that will inform the design of print materials. MCSP may provide up to three rounds of comments for further print material refinements during this stage of the process
- At the end of this period, the Consultant will be expected to submit 9 materials for field testing (3 materials for delivery rooms and 6 materials for inpatient newborn care spaces). MCSP staff will then field test the materials during the month of May 2018. Feedback will be documented and submitted to the consultant for further material refinement.
- The Consultant will be expected to draft initial images that reflect Nigerian health care facility environments with guidance provided by MCSP. Draft images will be submitted to MCSP for review and comment. Images must convey the social and emotional motivators that MCSP seeks to embed within the images and messaging.
Print Product Refinement and Finalization:
- Upon receipt of the field-testing results, the Consultant is expected to make refinements to the print products and submit for MCSP review. MCSP may provide up to three rounds of feedback for further refinement. Upon MCSP approval, the print products will be considered final
- Final print product files will then be submitted to MCSP.
- Draft 1 of 9 print products based on MCSP guidance
- Draft 2 of 9 print products incorporating MCSP feedback
- Draft 3 of 9 print products incorporating MCSP feedback for pre-testing
- Draft 4 of 9 print products incorporating MCSP feedback
- Draft 5 of 9 print products incorporating MCSP feedback
- Final print products submitted
- Creative Artist with experience designing and refining high quality images for public health and development programs or marketing activities
- Ability to complete tasks without any material or resource required from MCSP
- Fluency in English is required
- Knowledge and familiarity with Nigerian health facilities and hospitals is preferred

Job Title: LGA Program Assistant

To strengthen/support the capacity of the Local Government Area (LGA) nutrition focal person or team (as designated by the LGA) in management, delivery, and advocacy of cost-effective malnutrition prevention and treatment interventions (interventions include – Infant & Young Child Feeding, Community Management of Acute Malnutrition, Maternal & Child Health Weeks, Food Security & Livelihood and WASH components of WINNN project in the host LGA).
Key Areas of Accountability
The scope of this role will include:
- Document Nutrition/WINNN Meetings i.e. meeting reports, minutes etc. at the LGA level;
- Ensure Nutrition, FLS and WASH internal and external reports are properly filed in hard and soft copies at the LGA level and submit to the State;
- Manage WINNN KM platforms; Google drive, One Drive etc. and update them as necessary;
- Keep an updated Nutrition, FLS and WASH partners and Media contacts database at the LGA level;
- Contribute to the development and design of programme documents, data gathering/information as needed from all project component (Nutrition, FSL & WASH) at the LGA level;
- Collect data about Nutrition, WASH and FSL issues in local Government Area and share as appropriate to the State team;
- Document best practise, lesson learn and success story of all WINNN project component (Nutrition, FSL & WASH) and share with the state team;
- Under the supervision of the M&E Coordinator (WINNN), manage the preparation, coordination and execution for Nutrition/WINNN events such as trainings, conferences and workshops on project data tools;
- In collaboration with the relevant units, provide operational support for travel logistics and providing other support as needed, to ensure that tasks are completed successfully;
- Initiate and follow up on production and/or procurement of programme tools and equipment, as well as its distribution, as needed.
- Other ad-hoc duties assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Nursing, Social Sciences, Humanities or related field;
- Fluency in English Language; knowledge of Hausa language is desirable;
- Good writing, organization and documentation skills;
- Previous experience with archiving and documentation will be an added advantage;
- 1-2 years’ working experience in a similar environment.
